Education in LIVORA begins with early learning and school, continues through the choices made at 16 and 18, and can return at any point in adult Life. A course is part of the same Life as work, money, family, Health, housing and time — never a detached progress bar.

Learning begins in Formative Years

Education starts before Adult Life. Formative Years presents learning differently as the character grows, so a toddler is not given the same timetable, assessment and course controls as a university student.

From birth to age four, Learning & Growing centres on care, play, curiosity and emerging interests. There are no invented grades, homework tasks or formal subject scores. From five to eleven, School & Learning introduces the school setting, teachers, peers, interests and five broad subject areas: English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and Creative and practical studies. From twelve to fifteen, School Life gives more room to friendships, activities, confidence, attendance, support and genuine pressures. At sixteen and seventeen, Education & Next Steps brings qualifications and the first substantial choice about what should follow school.

Teachers and school friends are actual people in the Formative record. Activities and interests appear when the Life has genuinely established them, and school pressure is shown as context rather than a hidden score to maximise. A strong interest can suggest a direction without choosing the character's future. A difficult year can affect confidence or results without closing every later route.

Qualifications and the post-16 decision

At sixteen, LIVORA records results across the five subject families and presents the routes supported by the current Formative system:

Qualifications, attendance, practical interests and circumstances help explain readiness. They do not silently make the decision. Where a route is not yet a strong fit, resits, access study, college, vocational qualifications, professional training and later retraining can keep the Life moving.

Turning 18 does not reset education

The eighteenth birthday changes the controls, not the character. Formative qualifications enter the lifelong Education record, while the chosen post-16 route, study direction, interests, aspirations and genuine milestone evidence remain visible. Significant school friendships can continue through the wider People and Relationship systems. Family members, home and country remain the same unless the Life itself changes them.

Only study that genuinely exists carries forward as current study; LIVORA does not invent an adult course from a childhood intention. Earlier results can affect which adult routes are open now, but Adult Education includes recovery and alternative routes. Formative history influences the starting position without deciding the whole Life.
